Neon Lights
Noble gases have all of their subshells filled, therefore they feel no need to mingle with other atoms to form new compounds. They live a happy life on their own. But note: that's just b/c they're completely filled. All other elements in the periodic table want to be like a noble gas, they crave their stability. And that's why they donate, share and accept electrons. All to be stable. And I ask myself... would that be valid for humans, too? After all chemistry is the basis of human life. On the other hand, if it wasn't for the desire to react with others that certain atoms have, how would life be possible? Life as we know it is a huge combination of chemical reactions of unstable atoms reacting to become stable. And some will always be radioactive. An atom's journey could be the story of a lifetime. Nature humbles me.
